viewing card

I have the most upto date bt vision box and have an 18 month bt broadband contract and the bt vision 1 and 2 are on my bt vision box but advise I need a viewing card to view. This contradicts the 'you must have infinity to view on tv' theory listed on bt website. Would I be able to view from normal broadband with a viewing card? I used to have setanta on my old box but don't think I have that card any longer. How do I get a viewing card, does it cost anything?

thanks

Re: viewing card

BT Sport 1 and 2 are being transmitted as encrypted Freeview channels.  With the right decoder card, a BT Vision box can decode those channels.  That will work whether you have Infinity or not.

You'll only get SD, as the over-the-air channels aren't HD.

Edit: the card costs £10.  See here: https://www.register.btsport.com/
