BT Sport via LG Smart tv

Hello - does anyone know if it is possible to have the Bt sport channels on my LG smart tv activated so they can be viewed without the need for a set top box of any sort? i dont see why they are even on the TV if you cannot access them without using the Bt box, otherwise i can watch it on the tv via and internet but not as easy as switching over to the bt sport channel.

Welcome to the forum. Afraid the answer is No as Smart TVs don't generally have the necessary software.

Why does it?

They're broadcast via DTT, they're received on approved DTT receivers (namely the Bt Vision+ box), the DTT guide is for all channels on DTT.

Which part of that makes it "odd" that the channels are on the TV guide?

Hi

I have an lg smart TV and cannot watch it without the bt box being on at anytime to watch any channel. If I turn the box off the tele stays on for about 5 mins then no signal comes up? Is this correct or is there a problem?

If you switch off the BT Box which is probably using hdmi 1, then you would need to change the TV input using the TV remote back to TV not hdmi input

Obviously this assumes that you feed the aerial out cable on the YouView box to the aerial input socket on your LG TV.

If you haven't done this then switching 'inputs' via your LG remote won't help you to see the TV's own built-in tuner.

When the LG TV detects the absence of a signal - in this case from the YouView box - it puts a message on the screen to indicate this status.
