I’ve had my Netflix account through my BT/EE TV package for the last couple of years. Had an email from Netflix last week saying BT were no longer paying and I needed to set up a new payment method! Phoned up BT, the guy said it was because my TV package was out of contract, which was wrong as I regraded in Feb this year. Still he did a new regrade of my TV and broadband which included Netflix without Ads and was slightly cheaper than my previous package so I thought all was good. But the link on my order confirmation email to activate Netflix doesn’t work, says “Sorry we couldn’t connect you”. The go live date for broadband was yesterday, but I still can’t link my Netflix, please help!
I can see your order is stuck, so the Netflix link hadn't been re-established. I've just done it manually, and you should hopefully have just received another email to activate Netflix. Can you please confirm?
Hi Darren, yes that seems to have worked. Any idea why I got unlinked?
I have a theory, however I'm just clarifying with our Netflix product manager first to be sure. I'll update when I have an answer.
I have a partial explanation.
Your TV subscription included Netflix Basic. This subscription package stopped being sold last year, and existing customers with it are being forced to change no later than October 31st 2026.
The account should have just changed to the new tariff though, rather than disconnecting.
I'm still trying to find the cause of the disconnection.
It may be to do with the fact that I had to get one of you experts to help me change the Netflix account that was linked back in 2023? After this Netflix didn’t show as a product on the TV section on my account when I looked online, but since it worked OK I didn’t worry about it. I’ve also always had the no ads version of Netflix and have instructed this again when I relinked the account. Happy to pay the little bit extra.
