BT Vision no longer supported from 27th June 2017

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to provide a further update on the old BT Vision boxes which BT will no longer support after Tuesday 27th June.

The "BT Extra TV" channels, 301-599 will not be available on the Vision box after 27th June and any recordings from these channels will no longer play, as the subscriptions for old Vision boxes will be removed.

After that the BT Vision box will be usable as a Freeview PVR so you will be able to watch and record Freeview programmes, but not Freeview HD, as the box doesn't have an HD tuner. You're welcome to keep it, give it away or return it to BT for recycling. Note you won't need to connect it to your Home Hub as it will just receive TV via your TV aerial.

BT has been sending letters, emails and on screen messaging to all BT Vision customers letting you know that you have an option to upgrade your BT Vision box to a BT YouView box.  We strongly recommend you take advantage of this free upgrade to a BT YouView box which offers many benefits, including a smaller box, larger hard disc, no fan (except on UHD box), new user interface and speedy response. It will offer most of the same channels and services (but not Sky Sports 5).

If you haven't already get your upgrade orders placed today to avoid disappointment next Tuesday 27th June.

Cheers

Sean

Extra TV Recordings advice

[ Edited ]

Watching Extra TV Recordings

If you get a YouView box, I recommend removing the network cable from the Vision+ box before connecting the YouView box and before Tuesday. This may let you watch Extra TV recordings (300-599) for just 2 or 3 days, otherwise they'll be blocked immediately when YouView box is connected and takes over the subscription rights. Similarly if your Vision box is connected on Tuesday the Extra recordings will stop working immediately.

Cheers
