Problems with Home Hub and BT Vision

HI,

 

I have a many problems with the HomeHub loosing connection several times a day.  I have to reset it to get the connection back.. I'm on my 3rd hub.

 

I decided to buy my own router, and it works perfectly online.  Only think is when I try on demand on my BT Vision box,  I get the error 'Currently unavailable'

 

I have been searching the internet but cannot find a clear post that tells you how to get it working with a 3rd party router.

 

Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.

Try taking the BT vision plug out and leaving it for 20 seconds.  When I changed my homehub to a Negear router, I had the same problem till I did that, then it worked ok after it rebooted.

Video on demand will only work successfully if your new router is QoS compatible. You may have to do something in the router setup to enable that. You'll have to refer to the router's instructions on that one, I'm afraid.

What router are you now using?

 

For example you might try this
