I have received an email containing an audio memo from a btinternet.com user who is not know to me. I thought I'd try to download it and scan it but there doesn't seem to be a down load option. If I select "Preview" I get presented by a screen titled
"BROADBAND EE" and has a link captioned "click here to listen"
and if I click it I just get presented with another email login screen
Anyone seen one of these before ? is it dangerous ?

if sender is not known to you then I would not be opening any attachment which they have sent more delete it
You're probably right. I just thought this might be a message delivery that BT/EE might employ but I'd not yet come across it.
Thanks
You should never click on any links or download anything unless you 100% know who it is from and what it is that you are dowloading or clicking on.
Even then unless I asked for the item to be sent that was to be downloaded or knew where clicking the link would take me I would check before doing it.
there person email thats is known to you are they known to your personally there email address may have spoofed or hacked if it were me i wouldint be opening any email that look that suspicious anything that send you to a login page for a voice recoeding is odd may be used ny a hacked email account to get your details
much less downloading a file block this email until you can verify this but id say this is spam
might be wise to do a full system scan aswell
HI @Willmouger
If clicking a link from an unexpected email takes you to a log in page, it may be a cloned log in screen in an attempt to capture your details.
To be safe please have a look through What is a phishing scam? Is the email I have received genuine? and follow the steps under 2. I think I've received a phishing email. What do I do?
