Broadband Speeds

Hello!

I am wondering if I am paying for Broadband speed that I don't need.

There is only me and the wife now we are both retired and we don't really play games, I use Train Simulator 2024.

We do have an Android tv and both have Android phones.

We have BT Fibre 250 with Halo3, BT Youview tv but only the Sport package.

We don't stream movies as such only things on the TV apps.

Should I downgrade to Broadband Fibre 2, would this be adequate for my needs?

Re: Broadband Speeds

I personally wouldn't downgrade to fibre 2 which is copper cable to the cabinet

Best sticking with full fibre . You could reduce to 150mbps but I don't think there's any real savings to be made.

Be mindful that any changes restarts the 24 month contract again.

Re: Broadband Speeds

Thanks for the advice, but I don't have full fibre, it's only fibre to the cabinet.

I will have a look at Fibre 150 though, My bill at present is almost £105 a month.

Cheers,

Re: Broadband Speeds

From what you have posted you are on GFAST connection.  You are paying a lot for the add on Halo3. Do you also have home phone and a call package?

Re: Broadband Speeds

Yes, I have a landline and call package, with TNT Sport. and a mobile package.

But I really don't need 307Mbps.

Cheers,

Re: Broadband Speeds

Are you still in fixed term contract?  If so do you have months to go till end?

You can try phoning CS 03301234150 and see if you can downgrade but I doubt you will succeed
