You can't, only the mods can. I will ask them to intervene.

Re: Closing BT community account

Ok, thanks for your help.

Seems odd that users can't do so themselves though?

You really need to investigate why users can't instigate this themselves. You seemed to have ignored the issue. The GDPR has a section called right to be forgotten. I suggest this is looked at.

Where in the GDPR does it state that the person has to be able to remove the data them self. As far as I can see it only makes a requirement to have the data removed by the data holder if the person requests it or it is outdated and no longer relevant.

Re: Closing BT community account

What exactly is self-closure of accounts envisaged to mean in practice?

The GDPR clearly require that defined personal information is removed on request, and DanielS has covered it, though there's precious little attributable data in the body of this forum. What is expected beyond that? Surely not the removal of all contributions made by an individual, which would in many cases render legitimately recorded discussions unintelligible.

Re: Closing BT community account

It means that any identifiable data regarding the person should, in certain circumstances be removed if requested. Therefore any contributions, unless it contained identifiable information, could remain.

I understand and go along with that. What I meant was how those advocating self-closure would expect it to work.
