When signing into my email accounts today a message appeared 'auth.bt.com wants access other apps and services on this device Allow or Block. I blocked. There seems to be no where on My BT to be able to report this. I assume this is a scam? Has anyone else had this?
try here https://www.bt.com/exp/help/contact-bt/form/scams
Is it the BTMail app that you are using?
If it is it may be wanting access as per what the the BTMail app " collects shares and handles"

I never got the box on my browsers DuckDuckGo, Firefox and Opera but when I tried Edge and Chrome it did come up on them, but only the first couple of times I tried.
It would appear to be something that BT have implemented which I suspect has something to do with the browsers being able to be used on phones and tablets in "Mobile" mode but I have no idea why it has carried onto the "Desktop" browser.
I will ask the moderators if they can throw any light on it.
Hi,
Has anyone else been getting a pop-up box appear on the online sign in page?
It says:
prod-btmailauth.bt.com wants to
Access other apps and services on this device
Allow or Block
Sorry, but whats that all about, wanting to access stuff when logging in to your emails, I've never had this before...any ideas???
What apps and services I have on my machine is my business...not BT's thank you very much! 😘
Just block it if you are not comfortable with it. That's what I do.
Usually these days it's about providing an enhanced service. For example, it might be asking to access your location so it can tailor things to your area. Everything usually carries on working just fine even if you decline.
