You asked a similar question about numbers starting 03xx  in your other post and you were given an answer there.

What are 0344 numbers?
An 0344 number is a special type of landline-rate phone number used by businesses, government bodies, the public sector and various other organisations.
Unlike traditional landline phone numbers, 0344 numbers are not linked with specific geographic locations. However, the cost to call an 0344 number within the UK is always the same as calling a normal home or business landline.
0344 number call costs
A call to an 0344 number costs the same as a call to a normal home or business landline.
All numbers that start with 03 are charged at the same rate as normal local or national landline numbers that start with '01' or '02'. If your phone tariff offers inclusive calls to landlines, calls to 0344 numbers will also be included in the same way.
Typical landline call rates »
Are 0344 numbers free to call?
0344 numbers are not the same as freephone 0800 and 0808 numbers, but they can be called at no extra charge on many phone tariffs.
If your phone tariff offers free calls to landlines at certain times of day, or has inclusive calls or bundled minutes that cover calls to landline numbers, calls to 0344 numbers (and all other 03 numbers) will be included in these deals on the exact same basis.
All '03 numbers' work in the same way and are charged at the same rate. This includes 03440 numbers, 03444 numbers, 03445 numbers, 03448 numbers and all other numbers that start with the digits 0344, regardless of how the number is displayed or what the following digits are.

Re: 0344 Numbers Free?

0344 numbers are not free and each company with an 0344 number buys that number from any one of literally hundreds of companys who are in the business of selling numbers, also BT have 10 different calling plans so to start with you need to know which plan you are on.After trawling the internet to get an answer to the 0344 question I phoned BT and at first the person i spoke to could not tell me how much it would cost me to phone the particular 0344 number i wanted to phone . After at least 20 mins he came back with this 16p connection [charged by BT] 11.3p per min [charged by BT] and 4.9p per min charged by the company i wanted to phone. So in my case on my BT tarrif i would be charged 16p+4.9p =20.9p for the first min and 11.3p+4.9P for subsiquent mins. Every company with an 0344 number has different charges IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND OUT HOW MUCH YOU WILL BE CHARGED. Hope this helps.

Welcome to the forum. I think you've been misinformed. Unless there's been a very recent change which the general public has not been told about, all 03 numbers are charged the same as 01 and 02 ones and must be included in call plans. 0344 is not a special number in the sense that there's a two-level cost (access charge plus business rate); your adviser probably confused it with 0844.
