Add Second Name to Account

Hi,

 

As per the subject is it possible to add a second name to the account as I gather if something happens to me my partner can't just take over the account but has to start as a new customer. All our other utility bills and now in our joint names I'd just like to add her name to the BT account. We've been together for more than twenty years. I've spoken with BT but the way the conversation was going I decided to stop in case something I wasn't asking for happened.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for your post!

 

You're unable to add a second name on an account I'm afraid.  As we credit check customers before they get services connected the billing relationship would be with that one person.

 

To add a second name would involve ceasing the services in the existing customer's name and setting up a new account with new person, credit check etc.

Many thanks for reply. I had an idea that would be the answer as did work for BT/OR for many many years but thought would ask anyway.
