Advance Line Rental

Is there a logical reason why BT want you to make two calls per month, even if these are included in your call plan, in order to benefit from Advance Line Rental?

Just an update to my post.  After speaking with Live Chatl, followed by a telephone call to Customer Services, I was assured that the Two Calls per month no longer applies to Advance Line Rental.
