Amazon Echo

I ordered broadband with BT on the 5th December, and my services were activated on the 19th. I was under the impression I was just going to be sent an amazon echo within 28 days as nowhere said anything about a voucher.

I contacted live chat where 3 out of 4 times, the advisors were rather rude and just ended the chat before explaining much at all.

I was advised though that 14 days after my services were activated I will receive an email with a voucher to order from BT shop, however this has not happened. Apparently I have been sent two emails, one on the 5th December, and another on the 21st December but I haven’t received them.

I have been told to contact BT shop to track my order, but I haven’t placed an order because I haven’t received the voucher!
Live chat are so frustrating to talk to, just end the chat instead of resolving the issues!

Please can someone help?

Thanks for your post and welcome back!

Sorry for the confusion with the process of receiving the Amazon Echo.  I appreciate the amount of time you have contacted us on live chat and I am sorry if you felt the advisors were rude to you.

The process explained to you is correct.  After the 14 days following activation, you should have been sent an email with a voucher code that you use to place the order for the Amazon Echo on the BT Shop.

I appreciate that you have checked your mailbox and haven't received the email.  Have you checked all your mail folders?  If you have then please send us over your details as we'll have a better idea what the situation is when we look at the order.

When you complete the web form your email will join our queue and as soon as you reach the top one of the guys will give you a shout back.

Hi Robbie,

I have checked junk mail aswell but there is nothing there.

I also couldn’t find the link to contact you on your profile, I am on mobile. Does it show differently on desktop?

The link will only show on a desktop, or if you view the desktop version of the forum on a mobile.

Hi @Courtneysw98 I called earlier sorry I could not get to speak with you.

Your order is eligible for the Amazon Echo and this has been processed. The procedure is different for the offer you took up in that you do not get a voucher code to place your order on the BT Shop. Once your order was outside the cancellation period your details were forward to the shop to order the Echo for you. The details were forwarded to the shop just before Christmas but your order has not yet been completed. Once your order is dispatched you will be sent an email to track delivery of your gift. 

I'm sure it is just a short delay in completing orders over the holiday period and it will be dispatched very soon. If you have an query the BT Shop will be able to help you if you give them a call on 0800 917 0510.
