BT Engineer not shown up and then some

Hi,
I've ordered my BT Infinity on 20.01, my engineer's appointment was booked for 12.02. The engineer never shown up or got in touch. I called BT the day following the appoinment day. It must have taken about half hour on the line to establish that there's been a problem with "exchange" and the appointment is going to have to be rescheduled. The rescheduling will only be possible as soon as the engineers (Openreach) will cope with the "exchange" problem and get in touch with BT to confirm it. I was told to wait for three days for a call from BT to reschedule the appointment. Provided that I will get that call, who knows how long it will be before the next appointment? Who knows if the engineers will show up this time? So far, day and a half wasted. More days without the home broadband to come. All hail the great British Telecom!

I have asked a moderator to provide assistance, they will post an invite on this thread.
They are the only BT employees on this forum, and are based in the UK.

I'm sorry there's been a delay in getting you connected. Your best bet would be to contact the order team who'll be able to give you an update. You can live chat them Monday to Friday 9 - 5.

Thank you, but like I said, I got in touch with BT, but the whole process is just dragging unexpectedly on the account of my time. Thanks for the quick reply.

I would strongly suggest you take up DavidM's offer of help as the mod team will own your problem until fully resolved and give you a single point of contact in the UK

Since Monday (15th of Feb) there's a lady that calls me and tells me that the Openreach engineers are working to fix the "exchange" problem and she tells me the date she'll call me back to arrange the appointment to finally get my broadband connected. She already called 3 times, now I have to wait till Monday the 22nd. Is that the solution that was offered by DavidM or was he suggesting something else? I honestly don't understand.
