BT ID Changed After New Contract

Go to solution

I have been with BT for many years, and  my BT ID has always been my email address.

After I  recently took out a new contract for Phone, Broadband, and BT Sport, and when I now login my Username consists of 36 random characters, but my original password is still valid.

When I select "Not you ? log in" my BT ID changes back to my email address and again the original password is still valid.

When I logout the Username defaults back to the 36 characters.

This very same thing has just happened to my parents, who have just renewed their contract.

Thanks for that info, I have just found out that this does not happen when I use my wife's macos user account to login.

Going to check out safari setting on my user account. Will let you know if I have any success

Further to previous reply, I deleted all mybt cookies on Safari and all saved passwords.

Logged in again successfully with original email address and password.

Seems to have got rid of 36 character MyBT ID.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for posting you had similar problem.
