You win, BT, you finally broke my spirit. Here's how you did it

  3. I contact support chat to confirm which date this would happen - confirmed the 3rd
  4. I rearrange my working week to accomodate
  5. LO BEHOLD I check today and my home move is now on the 4th
  6. Haha, no way, - I contact web chat to confirm my booking of The Third!
  7. They forward me to another department
  8. I repeat myself
  9. They forward me to another department
  10. I repeat myself
  11. They phone me
  12. I repeat myself
  13. They forward me to another department
  14. I repeat myself
  15. They told me to speak to Account Management team and wait on hold
  16. Disconnected
  17. Contact webchat
  18. I repeat myself
  19. They forward me to another department
  20. I repeat myself
  21. They told me they woudl be the last hop in the chain! YES
  22. They call me up
  23. They forward me to another department
  24. This department checks the line in the new house
  25. YES! "The line is dead we can connect you up now, your phone should be on tomorrow!"
  26. HOw about my broadband, I ask?
  27. "Tuesday as originally booked"

*Spirit status: BROKEN*

You win, BT. I will terminate my direct debit today and let you chase me around for the termination fee

I'm done.

Finito.

Exhausted.

Goodbye.

Re: BT - Liars, incompetenct and never-ending failed promises

I have done, but I assume the outcome can't change given the systems in place over at BT/OR and their arcane way of operating.

Re: BT - Liars, incompetenct and never-ending failed promises

Ah so I just got a call back from one of the many people I spoke with today asking if my issue had been resolved!

Nice idea. Shouldn't the fact my issue isn't even resolvable be recorded somewhere on the system? Why should I be the guy to tell that person in the offshore service centre that my issue isn't going to be fixed?

Maddening. Complete joke.

PaddyB, is it worth my while checking in here, or in short is my complaint going to lead no-where? as in, if my issue isn't going to be resolved I'd rather spend my energy ensuring BT never see a copper coin from myself again, let alone the 45 pounds they drag out of my dying body every single month for what is undoubtedly the least customer friendly firm I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with (and trust me, I lived in france for 5 years, I know bad business)

@PaddyB is a member of a specialist group who work for BT and have a proven track record for helping out many people with problems that BT themselves cause. I wholly recommend you take up his offer for help, as it will provide you a single point of contact in the UK and they will see your case through until it is solved to your satisfaction.

Re: BT - Liars, incompetenct and never-ending failed promises

I've taken him up on his offer, of course. I gave them 24 hours on the phone to solve this and Assure me without doubt that my BT Broadbad will be connected on Monday and not one second beyond that.

He has the same time frame.

At 4pm tomorrow though my patience will run out (and it will be too late to solve this as My Home Move is already under way). At that point, I cancel my direct debit and play cat and mouse with the BT billing team, whilst I wait for a cheaper and more customer friendly provider to sort me out with internet whilst I tether my 4G 🙂

Re: BT - Liars, incompetenct and never-ending failed promises

Actually, if my rights are right in my mind, BT increased my price this week, so I can mug them off without penalty!
