BT Shambles

Placed and order on 6/7/20 and was confirmed external work end this month install date 5/8.

i checked the order last week and all still good. Check the order today and they have changed the outside work too beginning of September and install date now middle of September.

Absolutely no comms from BT re this date change and my current isp ends on 5/8/2020!!

spoke with BT and apparently openreach need to do alot of work first - surely BT shouldn’t be advertising products if the services and lines are not in place to provide it!!

Really annoyed with this and in the verge of cancelling the whole order - not even a customer yet and it’s a shambles!!

any thoughts, views or advice?

Re: BT Shambles

Any order is subject to survey, if openreach need to do more work then I doubt there's very much that can be done. Is it FTTP you're getting installed?

Re: BT Shambles

I get that it absolutely will be annoying however It is in the t's & c's that it's subject to survey -

Openreach Survey: In some cases Openreach have to carry out a survey before they can connect a home to Full Fibre. To do this they may need access to your property. If they do we’ll contact you to arrange a suitable time. If additional work is required, this may take longer than the initial set-up time provided and there could be additional costs. Our team of specialists will contact you to confirm what additional work is needed and how long this will take, usually within four weeks from the date your order was placed. If you don’t want to proceed with your upgrade based on this, you will be able to cancel your order and no charges will be applied to your account. Not all lines in an ultrafast Fibre area can support this service, call today to see if you are eligible.

If your current ISP isn't cancelling until 05/08 then you should still be able to cancel the cease at this stage if needed as well as a stop gap

Gary

I fully understand that - it’s the lack of communication from BT that’s really annoyed me!!

Re: BT Shambles

I see, not too sure what happened there, you'd expect some notification of a delay anyway
