BT Sport on Sky Month by Month and £35 Activation Fee

Go to solution

I've been looking at BT Sport on Sky, and see BT do a month by month deal. I see it is £27.99 a month, but does anyone know what the £35 upfront fee is, please?

Here is the offer about half way down this page, but I can't see any terms, etc:

https://www.productsandservices.bt.com/sport/sky/

If say I stopped after a month, and then took it up again after a few months, would I have to pay the £35 upfront fee again, as well as the £27.99 a month? Also, how much notice do you need to stop the service, or do you you just keep renewing month by month, please? Thank you.

Hi @Wheneverwherever

It is designed to make the 12 month contract more attractive. My understanding is that if you want BT Sport for one month only it will cost you £35 + £27.99 = £62.99 plus you must immediately give them 30 days advance notice to cancel. Repeat £62.99 if you cancel and then take it again for one month! If you don’t cancel it will automatically keep billing you at £27.99 a month until you give 30 days notice to end. Note the first time you take it out you will get HD free for 3 months as long as you tick the box while ordering. This is from personal experience as I took it out for the Liverpool Champions League Final only. A month later I decided to move to BT to take advantage of cheaper BT Sport.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Wow, I was hoping it was a one-off. I understand a one off fee to encourage you to get a contract, but every time you come back is more than a little excessive. So much so, it has put me off altogther. I'll leave it then, and see what Sky offer when they get the rights to sell BT Sport on their platform early next year. Cheers.
