BT broadband cancellation fee

I am moving house soon and have been told I have to pay a broadband cancellation fee of £179.91. When I took out the contract I had no idea at the time that I would be moving. It seems really unfair to penalise me in this way - is there no way of getting the fee reduced?

Re: BT broadband cancellation fee

Welcome to this user forum.

Yes, by transferring your service to your new address, using the BT Home moving process. You transfer the remainder of the contract to the new house.

Re: BT broadband cancellation fee

sorry but that is part of the contract you agreed.  are you not able to transfer your existing Bt broadband to your new home?
