BT device return problem

Can anyone help me please.

I returned a device a BT TV set top box using the returns bag I got from ordering a returns bag on BT website.

 

I got a post office proof of delivery and tracking number to say it was delivered. 

Over 3 weeks later the it is still showing as not returned and have less than 15 days left. Or I will be charged.

The website customer support doesn't work keeps giving me an internal error.

 

Any assistance will be appreciated

It is presently taking four weeks to update accounts when an item is returned.

If you call BT 0330.1234.150 with your proof of delivery they will update your account for you.

4 weeks? Have they got one work experience trainee on the job? Surely they could automate this so that accounts get automatically updated when the return is scanned?

Maybe they need to check that the package actually contains what it is supposed to before "closing it off"?

I don't know for certain, but wouldn't be surprised if people have tried getting away with posting a brick, or similar, back to BT!
