Billing after cancellation

I cancelled my BT broadband and Tv Packages on 12th March to move to another provider.

I’ve now received a bill for April, showing services provided 4th April to 3rd May, which is obviously in error. 

Am I in order to cancel my direct debit before this payment is taken?

Any over payment will be corrected on your final bill, so its not a good idea to cancel your direct debit as you will then be asked to pay another way, and may end up with a late payment fee.
