Broadband Activation gone wrong.

Go to solution
Hey, I need your advice - my broadband was supposed to be active yesterday and today I've called and they've said that there was a problem activating the BB and they'll review on the 5th of December. I had to call 3 times just to get that information.

Is there an escalation process I can take because OMD wouldn't take it further and now I'm stuck with no BB for over 2 weeks and no real reason as to why. Sky cut off which means the line is fine and with us, the engineer says it's all ok in the cab so how do I find the answer? I don't want to keep ringing and ringing but this is ridiculous.

Is your BT Retail phone line working? If so, can you do the following.

In order to find out what services and speed range you should be getting, please enter your phone number into this form.
Broadband availability checker

Please remember to edit out your phone number before you post the results.

See if the cabinet shows available, or waiting list.

For all ADSL and WBC Fibre to the Cabinet (VDSL or G.fast) services, the stable line rate will be determined during the first 10 days of service usage.

This line is on a Market B Exchange.

There is an open order on your line which is due to complete by 21-Nov-2016.

Throughput/download speeds will be less than line rates and can be affected by a number of factors within and external to BT's network, Communication Providers' networks and within customer premises.

The Stop Sale date for Datastream is from 20-Nov-2014; the Formal Retirement date for Datastream is from 27-Nov-2014. The Stop Sale date for IPstream is from 30-Nov-2012; the Formal Retirement date for IPstream is from 30-Jun-2014.

If the End User wishes to migrate from their current Broadband supplier they will need to contact the Broadband supplier they want to take service from to arrange for the service to be migrated.

Please note that postcode and address check results are indicative only. Most accurate results can be obtained from a telephone number, NAD, UPRN or Access Line ID (ALID) check.

Sorry I can't format it properly on the phone. But that's the results on the page. There doesn't seem to be anything standing in the way?

Did you order normal broadband, or fibre broadband?

It may simply be a shortage of field staff to do the work.

Re: Broadband Activation gone wrong.

BT had to give me a new number before they could progress my order, they gave me no reason why for that either cause I'm upstairs from the cab and 5 mins from the exchange.

Ok. So. What do you recommend doing?

Is the phone line now working? If so, how long ago?
