Broadband installation - still waiting

Hi,

 

I'm a new customer (left Virgin after 10 years of disappointment).

Full fibre 100 was supposed to be installed today with engineer coming between 1pm-6pm. I booked half a day off to stay at home, waited all day in my living room to make sure I don't miss him.

Tried to call him twice, sent 2 texts, had no response from him, and eventually at 6:42pm the status of the order changed to:

Today, Mon 10 Oct 2022

 

Engineer visit

 for Broadband

Estimated arrival Today between 13:00 - 18:00

Status: Missed

Please Contact Us so we can rearrange your appointment.

 

The engineer has been unable to access to the property in order to complete the work.

 

 

How is that possible when no body tried to reach us all day? Nothing was blocking the property, there was space to park right outside.

Now I need to book another installation? This is insane as it's 1 month to get another date and I already waited 4 weeks for this one.

 

What shall I do? I'm now thinking to just return all the equipment and cancel my package

BT and Openreach were on strike yesterday.
