Buy BT smart hub question

BT are trying to entice me to buy a 'free' smart hub and commit to 18mth contract; is it worth it if bt infinity is due 'shortly'?

If I commit to smart hub will it work with infinity went it comes along, or will i need to have yet another new hub?

Basically if the SH performance is 'much better', or should I wait for infinity; going with latest 40.99 offer for 18mths saves me £1 per mth but I will have a free smart hub! Of course £1 saving is wiped out by the other increased charges beyond line rental/broadband.

Tx for any advice

Re: Buy BT smart hub question

If your current home hub works fine, then I would continue using that. The HH6 will work on ADSL and BT Infinity (FTTC) but it can perform poorly on very long ADSL lines where your speed is less that 2Mbs.

By all means try the HH6, but you may find that its not as good as advertised, for some people.

Are you still using the HH3?  This is probably the best one to continue using until you get BT Infinity.

Re: Buy BT smart hub question

yes using HH3; speed rarely ever above 3MB; quite a long way from the exchange.

When infinity arrives will it require change from HH3 to new HH?

Tx

Re: Buy BT smart hub question

Yes but it will be free as part of your upgrade. Do not buy one.
