Just had a call from indian gentleman saying that he is speaking on behalf of my communications provider for open Reach to confirm that I will be in on Thursday for my installation. Well my installation was meant to happen last Monday but they didn’t come but I spoke to somebody in customer services who told me that there been a mixup and she was on the phone to OR. Booked an appointment there and then with the Thursday so I know I have a confirmed and have had 3 text today. BT andOR, both on the website are meant to be British call Centers
I know BT are hundred percent British andI am a pretty sure I’ve seen that open reach use only British too so I am a bit anxious because I’m worried it’s Scam but can’t work out why or how with just confirming the date oftajkyq-3bAzse-gygjiv. Forgot to say I got a text bout 50 mins prior to this saying someone would be calling in 200 mins. They were late
Welcome to this user forum for BT Retail phone and broadband customers.
This is just a customer to customer help forum, everyone here, including myself, are just customers.
The only BT Employees are the forum moderators.
Try calling 0330 1234 150 and they should confirm the calls and booked appointment.
Thank you. I knew it was customer to customer just wondered if it was the same rule about UK call centres there. Was hoping someone would know without me having to phone up as I’m not too well but thank you. I’ll give them a go.
As the call was just imparting information rather than asking for anything, does it actually matter if it was a scam or not? Just either accept the information given or ignore it, nothing gained or lost in either case.
PS why do you think a British call centre would preclude the use of a British 'Indian gentleman'
BT call centres are based in the UK but there is absolutely nothing to stop them employing Indian, French Japanese or any other nationality!!
