I check my call charges and saw it had leapt £25 over one day.
Looking into my itemised charges I saw a nearly 4 hour call to an unrecognised number,
I've made three contacts to BT to tell them I did not make the call.
Each time I'm told it will be logged but I'm either cut off when I ask for confirmation(live chat)
or told I will get email acknowledging (nothing) and just given a reference number.
It's happened before and was told it was crossed line. It's such a big amount and I'm sure it's not me.
Any BT people see this could you advise me how to proceed.

Its possible your line is crossed with another. If you can plug a phone into the socket, and dial 147017070, you will get an announcement telling you your phone number.
Check this against the phone number shown on your bill, to make sure its the same.
If its not, then make a note of the number you get, and let BT know, so they can investigate.
You can also call your home number from a mobile, and see if your phone rings, or if someone else answers instead.
If you do not use your phone very often, then its easy not to notice a crossed line. BT Retail would not be able to detect this.
