Cold caller charges

Hello, not sure if I'm in the right place here (apologies!)

I'm receiving calls monthly, about 17 seconds. I never answer and they appear as outgoing on my bill, but they're costing me upwards of £10 per month. I've called BT and no help. How can I get them blocked and is it possible to be refunded?

I've searched the numbers on the web and they're listed as scams.

Welcome to this user forum.

You should not be charged for incoming calls unless you are answering them, and perhaps pressing some buttons which is initiating an outgoing call.

You may have a fault on your line.

I have asked a moderator to provide assistance, they will post an invite on this thread.
They are the only BT employees on this forum, and are based in the UK.

How do I locate my private messages?

Also I did not accept the calls as I was away from my home during the starting period. I have since unplugged my phone. I have scam protection on my phone that asks the caller to say whom they are before I answer, could that be why?

What are the numbers that are showing? Are they known numbers to you?
