We've had several BT Youview boxes and the current one is a DTRT2100. We do catchup, record, bit of Netflix, Amazon. We've never paid anything for this. When the old (large) BT Youview box failed (at least 5 years ago - maybe longer) we were sent a replacement - FOC.
I've received an email:
Can anyone tell me, what is the standard price? Is it £0.00? I couldn't find any details in the BT Retail Consumer Price Guide.
Thanks
Paul
Solved! Go to Solution.
You may well have a BT piece of kit (the box), but you do not have a BT TV contract as you are using it for Freeview, catch up services (iPlayer, All4) and 3rd party services (Netflix etc.), billed directly to you.
When you are a massive, inefficient organisation like BT Group, weird and wonderful variations on standard messages (such as 'BT TV Player'), are to be expected because they cannot cater for the numerous variations of services and differing agreements they have had over the years.
In short, do nothing, continue to pay nothing.
You may find that when this box fails, unless you want to enter a contract for a BT TV service you may need to resort to eBay or similar for a new/refurbished one.
@Anonymous Thanks for the reply. I'll do nothing.
