Contract has expired. Fiber 1 or Fiber 2?

Hi all,

Considering I currently get max speed of 35 in download, I assume Fibre 1 is more than enough for me, right? 

This is what I get from here:

Thanks for your help. 

PS when you renew a contract, do you get a new modem from them, and is that going to improve my speed?

Another follow up question, if I swap to Vodafone, I assume I would get exactly the same max speed, right? At that point it's only a difference with the hub/model they offer.. which I have read the vodafone one is rather good by the way.

No ISP gives you a new hub or router when you renew your contract.

Fibre 2 won't increase your speeds other than a few mb although looking at you present speed there could be an issue with your line.

Can you post your hub connection stats?

For a HH5 go to troubleshooting/helpdesk.

SH2 advanced settings/technical log/information.

assuming this is what you meant, it seems there are no issues here. 
could it be the socket in my flat?

at the same time, the speed I get is the speed BT and Vodafone state they can guarantee, so it might be just the speed I’m supposed to get?

I have CityFibre/Vodafone at my door, although I hope OpenReach fibre will come along soon.  Vodafone have offered me 500Mb download for what I am paying BT for 63.

The main reason for not taking Vodafone FTTP is the route it would take  is daft.  The other reason is loyalty to BT which has been helpful and solid.

But unless you can get CityFibre/Vodafone, Vodafone will also arrive on OpenReach (as FTTC) and your speeds will be as they are now.

As I understand my own situation...

No that's not what I meant.

Enter the hub settings using the details from the slider card and go to the following

For a HH5 go to troubleshooting/helpdesk.

SH2 advanced settings/technical log/information.

Post the result of the page that comes up.

You are syncing at 44+Mbps with optimal noise margin.

I suspect the 35Mbps max is due to using wireless.

I’ve occasionally reached close to 40, but only when super close to the router.

So thanks for your help so far- to conclude,  does it mean the max speed i can ever reach  is 44?

Correct, no point in having Fibre 2
