Contract is cancelled, why am I being billed a full month?

Go to solution

So my contract ends on October 26th, my billing date is the 12th and my bill was issued today (the 4th) but I'm still being charged the full amount for the month despite giving my 30 days cancellation notice to be in line with the end of the contract, so surely I shouldn't be paying a full month when I'm not receiving a full month of broadband?

And then my November next bill estimate shows another full amount.

Just want clarification on how this works.

It’s perfectly normal  , when you serve notice , your monthly  bill is already in production, ( the billing date and your minimum term expiration date are not necessarily aligned ) so you pay the full month , any days you have paid for after the notice period has ended are refunded usually by reverse direct debit ( if you pay by DD ) so it’s not a good idea to cancel the DD .

It is the way pretty much every provider deals with customers that leave , even those that give the appropriate amount of notice .
