Equipment returns

So I cancelled my service as EE was a better offer, and returned my router, discs and cables in the white bin liner provided. 3 months on and I have a letter from a debt collector as the equipment has not arrived. The tracking receipt is lost, unbelievably Royal Mail do not store record of scanning and posting and presumably the returns depot haven't received it. BT are saying nothing they can do, Royal Mail saying nothing they can do and a debt collector adding 25% to the bill now totalling over £220.

Frustrating.

Re: Equipment returns

It may have been lost on transit by royal mail, or an issue at BT end. Either way without proof of return there is nothing you can do. This is why when returning equipment BT ask customers to keep proof of return.  Good practice is to take a picture in case you loose the receipt

Re: Equipment returns

Thanks.

It's OK for BT or Royal Mail to loose a bin liner full of kit, but because I don't have a receipt from November last year I get dirty letters from a debt collector.

Perfect.

Re: Equipment returns

It is always possible for Royal Mail or BT to lose or misplace return equipment packages hence why you are advised to ask and retain proof of posting just for this occasion.  You can try BT again and see if they will waive the cost
