Re: FTTC help

Yes, BT, or more specifically Openreach are building Full Fibre to blocks of flats.

How they do it depends on multiple factors though.

Firstly there’s two types of MDU Builds,

Proactive. These are MDU with 16 or more flats. To build in these the Openreach MDU Enablement Team will approached the Building Owners and request permission to build. If they agree Openreach will then arrange a Survey, Asbestos Report, Wayleaves, etc.

Reactive Build, aka 5 - 15 Flats. If said block of flats is within a PON area that Openreach have already built then they’ll allow customers in the flat to order Full Fibre. The Build Engineers will do a Survey on the Day before committing to build. For Reactive Builds it’s up to the person who placed the Order to obtain permission from the Building Owner and provide an Asbestos Report if necessary.
