Update 3: Called BT again (Thursday), and very helpful lady spoke to Openreach, and escalated the problem. She insisted that they call me to arrange a visit, to which they agreed. On Friday, Openreach turned up again, 5 minutes after I'd left the house! This time they left a card, with the engineers telephone number, stating that the fault had been fixed ..... Yay! Unfortunately, it hasn't; still no light down the fibre. I tried calling the engineer, but the number he left was invalid.
