BT have emailed me telling me I’m getting a new smart hub 2 and being switched over to fibre. Is that legitimate as I can find nothing on the website announcing that.
Yes it is genuine. BT are moving ADSL broadband customers onto fibre in line with their policy of wanting to close down the copper network in the future.
Your contract time will stay the same and it will not cost you any more for the duration of the contract.

For most people the connection is still going to be copper, not "true" fibre.
You need to make sure the email is actually from BT, as I expect there are a number of scam emails around. Do not click on any of the links in the email, just in case.
I would have expected you to receive a letter in the post, not an email.
Thanks all. Having got home the letter was there not half hour after I posted. Seems the email and letter turned up on the same day.
