Final Bill received with credit balance, but I haven't been a BT customer for about 10 years

I received a bill from BT - Your final bill is £383.20 in credit -  but I haven't been a BT customer for about 10 years.  Is this a scam to get my bank account number?

 

I called the BT helpline but they can't tell me any details about the bill, other than that it's a final bill and I'm supposedly in credit.

Hi @john9648uk and welcome.

 

Hopefully the live chat guys will have cleared things up for you but just to confirm any credits should be processed 5 working days after the final bill is produced so if you're been paying by direct debit it will go directly into you account, otherwise you'll get a cheque refund up to 10 days after the final bill is produced.
