You need to phone BT & give 30 days notice of termination. If you are still within the contract term you will be liable for Early Termination Fees.

Very cheerful lady but I may not have used the magic words "terminate broadband contract" in that order and finished up with a worse deal that I started with.
I eventually found that my contract does not 'terminate' until August 2018 and so it is more worth my paying until then.
