Installation + Services 'Stopped' without us asking?

We're in a new flat. The engineer first came out on 30 March, called us from outside and said he couldn't do the installation for us. Said to watch out for emails/ messages about rescheduling.

I got a text on the 7th April saying 'sorry we missed your appointment today' (though I had never been told I had another appointment).

Today i got an email saying 'we're stopping your services'. And when I sign into myBT it says there's an 'Auto Cease Order' open. 

I don't know what any of this means.
