Leaving BT.
Im paying £75 for 900mb BB and phone and im out of contract in June. Ive been offered 500 mb from Vodafone for £30 so it's a bit of a no brainer. I went on chat today to see if BT would be able to offer a deal somewhere near Vodafone's but honestly, i had to terminate the chat as i was on half an hour and i'm sure the lady i was speaking with was dealing with more than one customer at a time as i sometimes waited 2 or 3 minutes for her to reply. She also spent the most of the conversation trying to sell me mobile phone deals. I was losing the will to live. I need to cut costs as both myself and my wife have had to give up work due to illness in the last year and a half. Is it likely they will offer something half decent to get me to stay? I would rather stay but not at the price i'm paying just now. I'm happy to return the EE back up router and their DV phone. I never use either anyway.

Re: Leaving BT.
Do you have the add on halo 3 or 3+ which is quite expensive add on. You are bit early to at 3 months to negotiate a new contract

Re: Leaving BT.
Yes I went a bit ott 2 years ago and have halo 3+ and got the phone as well. I realise it's a way off to re contract but i was just trying to see what they would offer. I can leave a little earlier as Vodafone are offering me £100 towards early termination charges. As I said I'm happy to return the equipment they supplied. I have to get costs down now.

Re: Leaving BT.
New customer prices for the cheapest broadband only BT/EE 500mbps packages are £39.99 per month after a "free" first three months and the BT broadband only 900mbps package is £40.99 per month.
You should be able to get something off your present package if you are "downgrading" and doing away with the phone and other add ons but it might not be at the same price as a new customer.
Nothing to lose if call them to haggle for a price reduction particularly if you are prepared to move providers. As the Customer Service reps are on commission you may find it a difficult haggle but stick with it and if need be call back a couple of times as you may find that you are offered a different price.

Re: Leaving BT.
Then check online to see what BT are currently offering for broadband only - no halo or ability to make/receive calls. From other post you have to be persistent to drop halo. You then phone CS 03301234150 and see what you can negotiate
