Re: Leaving BT

By that rationale if you believed Trust pilot you wouldn't touch BT EE or Plusnet with a barge pole

Re: Leaving BT

I've had the (mis)fortune of enhancing/tweaking the internet setups of quite a few local properties.  One of the big name providers stands out as having way more problems - and it's not BT.  I'm not going off reviews, but personal experience.

*All but one setup I've been involved in had to be maintainable by the householder, so they've all been pretty vanilla.  Generally don't tweak it, if it then requires any maintenance that the householder can't do or understand!  And I still get the occasional phone call!

Re: Leaving BT

I know what you mean, my neighbours on VM swear blind they would never get it again, bizarrely there's even a local Facebook group all hating VM

Re: Leaving BT

I've spoken to a Sky subscriber who says that he's been able to negotiate for a renew of his Sky package at the same rate as a new customer for several years now.
Anyway it's all done now, I subscribed to Sky via a phone call & they will take over from BT on the 4th November. I've had an email from BT to confirm the move.
I'm always honest about what I do & I will come on here & admit if I made a mistake by leaving BT.

Re: Leaving BT

I suppose it will be interesting if BT make a last ditch attempt to try and retain your business by contacting you between now and the Sky start date ….and if you consider it (should they make a competitive offer to stay )  or you say that BT had plenty of opportunities to persuade you to stay before you switched and now it’s just too late …..

Re: Leaving BT

I had an email from BT which included 'If you'd like to chat about the move or have any questions, call us on 0800 085 1756 before 2PM on 31-Oct-2025'

Sky also offered me a  Sky TV & Netflix add-on package for £12pm which I thought was a very good price but I hardly watch any TV so I didn't bother with it.

Re: Leaving BT

@iniltous Sure I've said this a few times now...  But if I'd known how difficult it would be to get BT to honour their improved "don't go" offer, I would have gone anyway (that's the short version).

Re: Leaving BT

Price isn’t everything, but BT’s support community is about as bad as it gets
