I'm currently with Plusnet and at end of contract and thinking of switching back to BT, the question I have is that the website is only offering Fibre 1 as an option saying I will get up to 50Mbps whereas on Plusnet I'm getting 55Mbps and my sync speed is currently 66171/17214 so I would have thought that I should be able to get around 60Mbps (Plusnet seem unable to deliver this).
If I can only sign up to Fibre 1 will I be limited to 50Mbps or will the line run at the highest rate it can achieve? When I was with BT 18 months ago I managed around 62-64Mbps so hoping I can get better than 50 if I come back.

If you select the fibre 1 package then the maximum connection speed is 55mb down and 10mb up to get a faster connection speed you need fibre 2 and line capable of faster than 55mb
That's what I was afraid of - the website doesn't offer Fibre 2 when I enter my details only Fibre 1, I guess I'll have to talk directly to BT to find out if they can offer Fibre 2 or not as the router stats imply that I can do better than 50Mbps.
your faster speed is due to the activation of G.INP

BT changed the estimate speed checker, so your line might be able to do more but BT are being cautious, if you do switch and the line is stable, you'd be able to upgrade later.
