Moving from BT to EE Broadband

BT has asked me to change from BT to EE Broadband. The agent I spoke to said I would get a £10 discount on each EE mobile. Currently, I have 2 SIM only contracts, which total £45 per month. Does that mean my bill would be £20 less per month, I.E ?£25. If that's the case, how long will the discount last? The agent was struggling to answer various questions. Thanks

Re: Moving from BT to EE Broadband

You need to ask these questions of EE. This is a BT forum.

BT are not ‘asking you’ to move. They are instead passing on EE offers to strongly encourage you. There is a difference. You are not obliged to take up these EE offers.

@Mush247

Be very wary of anything the BT/EE guides tell you these days as many have fallen foul of their words, including me.

Re: Moving from BT to EE Broadband

Be VERY wary of accepting any offer to move to EE from BT. A lot of posters on this forum have reported that the claimed discounts the telephone agent promised them didn't materialise and, worse, they sometimes lost all broadband service for a days or even weeks when BT/EE messed up the migration.

Re: Moving from BT to EE Broadband

Remember, remember one cardinal rule. Never phone BT unless absolutely necessary. You'll be pestered for EE offers and upgrades to FTTP. I will keep under their radar until such time that I have no alternative. I'm out of contract but so what as it just means I don't qualify for their contract discounts.

Re: Moving from BT to EE Broadband

Update - I tried Updating via EE, prices were agreed etc but when the agent tried to move over the BB with TNT sports he was getting an error. He promised to phone me back but didn't. So it seems like the move process has an issue moving over TNT sport with EE.

Re: Moving from BT to EE Broadband

This is precisely what happened to me, I was with BT since 2004 and had no issues, and happy with my current deal, after speaking to an advisor I was offered a better deal I was on for a cheaper price.

unfortunateley this wasn't to be and lost half what I had and was moved to EE with a new account number which wasn't explained was going to happen, anyway after a lot off back and forth it was agreed I was misold and they couldn't deliver the deal I was promised and couldn't seem to get it right even giving me back what I lost.

I felt the best option was to change providers as was in the cooling off period and got a better deal elsewhere, but before the switch was to take place I was cut off and had no connection  for a few weeks until our new provider was able to reactivate the line,

after over 20 years off being with BT I was disappointed with the service I received in the end as always had a positive view before this.

I'm hoping this is just teething issues of two big companies merging and they do solve the problems but I'm reluctant to return after my experience I had.
