Moving house... how do I work out the cancellation charges?

Hello,

We are moving home soon (I would say within 3 months) as the conveyancing process will be commencing within the next 2 weeks.

However, I would like to know what the cancellation charges (if any) there are likely to be when we cancel our services.

The property we hope to purchase has a really long BT line and a max speed of 500k- way to slow for our needs, so we would have to go with cable Broadband which is available at the property, hence the need to cancel when we move.

We have the following services:-

BT Broadband Option 3= £10 PM (15 months left to run on contract)

Evening & Weekend Calls= £Inc PM (15 months left to run on contract)

Line Rental= £13.90 PM (Is there a cancellation charge?)

BT Vision Gold= £12.50 PM (9 months left to run)

Thanks :smileyhappy:

Hmm...

£700.49 is what the cancellation charges will be, according to today's call to BT!

How they worked that out is anyones guess but it cant be right.

The T&Cs say that if you move home and they cannot provide a service, then BT will cancel it at no cost.  If the line at the new home is too slow for BT Vision then thay should just cancel that part of the contract.

You would still have to pay all the other charges.

I think I'll just say we're moving to Hull or abroad then...

Will this work?
