New Customer - Claiming the card

Why does a new customer have to contact you to claim their 'gift card', you know its a new customer, why is it not sent automatically.

 

If a customer does not realise they have to contact yourselves, they will miss out on part of the package offer, it is at no part made obvious, also why should they have to go out of their way to do this?
