I recently spoke with someone at BT and quizzed them on why I was being charged a full month (at new price), having arranged to leave BT.
Paying a month up front from the 23rd of each month and having service disconnected on the 3rd of the month, I expected to pay a few days balancing and not a full month. I was assured that this was correct and it would sort itself out by the time the bill was due.
It wasn't. £ 37.99 went out of my account.
I have no faith that this will sort itself out automatically and I can;t take time out of my working day to talk this out in a busy office. I see no live chat on the portal, so have recorded my gripe here.

It will sort itself out. The billing system runs once a month & doesn't take future pending cancellations into account when running. Once cancelled you'll receive a final bill & if you leave your DD set up it will automatically refund any charges overpaid in advance to you as well
