I am unfortunately having this exact same issue. I have called up BT Customer service and they have confirmed that I placed my order through a third party, but they are unable to provide me with an AJM or BTC reference number, only a VOL one.
Hi @Hannahbananarance welcome to the community and thanks for posting, I've started your own thread as the one you've posted on was a couple of years old and marked solved. If the order tracks back to a referral site there will be an AJM or BTC order reference on your order confirmation email, this is normally sent on the same day that your broadband is connected the VOL reference is the BT order number and the AJM or BTC order reference is for the referral.
