Re: EE broadband second thougths and staying with BT

I have made the same mistake. I called BT last week to arrange a new deal and was offered a package including the same products I already had. I was not told that the new deal swapped the broadband to EE. The "guide" mentioned the mobile only. I received a message from EE telling me that my landline had been cancelled and I could no longer make or receive calls. I contacted them straight away to ask for the landline to be re-instated. I also phoned BT several times to ask for this. I did not receive any confirmation from either BT or EE that this had been done so I called again today. I have now been told that I cannot re-instate the landline and would have to place a new order and would receive a new number from EE. This person then told me that if I used the 14 day cooling off period to cancel the order all my BT services would cease as BT no longer deal with private customers - only business accounts! I was on the phone for 45 minutes this evening to try and sort this and have been on a message site with BT and had to wait 58 minutes for someone to reply. Jessica Ann from the team said I would receive a security code on my mobile but this did not come through. I now appear to have been disconnected from the messages and the screen says I will be transferred to a team member with 50 minutes! I would avoid changing from BT to EE as it seems to be a shambles.

@dogsbody123

BT are still dealing with residential customers, but they will try to persuade you to move to EE.

EE do have their own forum https://community.ee.co.uk/

Re: EE broadband second thougths and staying with BT

for some strange reason my post was deleted!

anyway,  are you on EE broadband now?

why did they say you cannot cancel within the 14 days?

I have BT landlandline and I chose to keep the landline, I don't understand how EE said I'll be getting now digital line when BT hadn't done it yet.. despite BT sending me letters last year saying the would but they never did

Re: EE broadband second thougths and staying with BT

It wouldn't do because they are separate threads. It's one of the disadvantages of hiving off a post to a new thread while maintaining the same thread title.
