Re-contract
Hi,
3 questions.
If I re-contract with BT the early fee penalty for leaving gets extended 24 months?
My current BT package contains broadband and mobile. May I leave BT broadband and keep mobile?
I just checked the new BT offers available and if I choose fibre 500, they will charge me £11 for delivery equipment. I got now fibre 300 which equipment would be? They didn't mention.

Yes

I expect so, but dont know if you need to cancel both then sign up again for some new mobile contract or just drop one, you'll have to call CS.

What equipment do you have? You may not even need anything new, SmartHub 2 is what is sent out at the moment.

If I re-contract with BT the early fee penalty for leaving gets extended 24 months? No it does not get extended. It starts a new 24 months period because you have started a new fixed term contract.
My current BT package contains broadband and mobile. May I leave BT broadband and keep mobile? If you have a contract that gave you a Broadband and Mobile as a package cancelling one will cancel both and you would need to take out a new standalone package for the mobile, if BT still do that. You may be moved to EE for mobile phone. As advised above you may be best to call BT to seek the current position.

Again you will most likely be moved to EE in which case they will supply you with EE equipment which will be free. If you are kept on BT rather than being moved to EE you will not be charged for any equipment as it uses the same equipment that you already have.

Re: Re-contract
To clarify my first answer....I was meaning to answer to reflect that you would be starting a new contract, and whatever early termination fees that would apply...will only apply to the new 24 months and if you left early during that.

Re: Re-contract
Thanks for the answers. I have all much clearer now.
Regarding the equipment: I have got well better I had a SH2. I've replaced BT router with a TP-link one that supports wifi 6E connected straight to the ONT.

Re: Re-contract
If you are using a 3rd party router you shouldnt have to do a thing, the PPPOE credentials are the same between EE and BT if you are moving to EE, you may have to take a new router but just leave it in the box incase you ever need to troubleshoot. If you are not moving to EE then still, leave the router connected to the ONT that you use and you shouldnt have to do anything.

Re: Re-contract
Great same PPPoE credentials. I like the idea of having a spare router to test but another 24 months....

I use my SH2 as an on the go AP when I went to provide myself with my own WIFI Network, most of the time however its in its box under the sofa incase my net ever goes down and I have to plug it in to talk to support, I hope not I really hope not.

Re: Re-contract
You asked “My current BT package contains broadband and mobile. May I leave BT broadband and keep mobile?” I believe that you can cancel the broadband but you would loose the £5/mth discount per phone.
