Request to return BT You View Box

Go to solution

Hi, I have recently left BT, such a shame but treated absolutely abysmally, I have received an email regarding loaned equipment, I understand about the router and the wifi disc but they are requesting the BT You View box back, I have had it since way before 2019 and if I don't return it they want £140.  Can any one help please. Having spent literally hours on the phone with BT in the last 2 weeks I really can't face calling them again.

@Julie490

"I have had it since way before 2019"

Is it definitely still the original, pre 2019, box? Have BT ever replaced it due to a fault?

I cannot remember it being changed Paul, how would I find out. It's a DTR-T2100/500G/BT/DF

@Julie490

The policy is clear, if you have been sent loaned equipment after the 13 of December 2019 and choose not to or can't return it within 60 days of being asked, a one off charge is applied.

Assuming your box was provided before that date you should not be required to return nor be charged if you don't.

Also i believe that the correct one off charge  for non return of a loaned BT TV Recordable Box (G4) would be £89 not £140.

I have no idea whether this is just a badly worded email notification or an error in BT processses (or both).

Just checked with them. They are saying it's a post 2019 box.
