Hi.
My dad has been on BT Home Essentials for several years.
Now he has been told he has to switch to digital - Digital Voice is the new service/package he as been told he must go to.
I/we understand that the switch to digital must be made.
BT Home Essentials was costing £10 per month, Digital Voice is to cost £20 per month.
FYI - my dad is a light user, of both the internet (checking emails only) and seldom makes any phone calls.
My question is, does the digital switch over have to also include a doubling of the price, or is there a cheaper digital option available?
Thanks for any help.
No idea where those prices came from but it is not due to Digital Voice. DV is exactly the same pricing as analogue telephony.
This is the current home essential plans and £10pm is phone only
social tariff
£10 is the price of the phone only social tariff, it’s not the cost if the social tariff including broadband, if your relative was getting broadband for £10 as well as broadband then they were either getting undercharged and getting broadband for free (that mistake being corrected at the same time as moving of PSTN ) , or they aren’t paying £10
