Strange cancellation fee

So my broadband contract ends or runs out on the 8th of February, it was a 12 month contract:

So I've signed up with another provider today, my connection date with the new provider is the 9th of February, and i get this message from BT today:

So I guess my question is, what is going on? I haven't extended the contract in any way, shape or form since the original date i got BT broadband. Given that the charge is £118.07, how many months are they under the impression I've got left?!! I've tried to phone but queues are massive and not got time to sit waiting on a phone at no doubt my expense right now.

I've also got BT Sport and BT Mobile but I'm keeping them, they have confirmed I'm keeping them in the email so the charge in no way relates to any other product apart from the broadband.

Re: Strange cancellation fee

Is this any help?

http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/36061/kw/notice%20period/c/345,6375,7472

And

http://www.bt.com/ceasecharge

Also check that you do not have any other outstanding contracts by looking at your orders.

https://www.bt.com/appsordermgmt/secure/listoforders.do

You would also be charged for any equipment provided, if you did not give enough notice of cancellation.

Re: Strange cancellation fee

Yeah I was vaguely aware of the cease charge so that's what I was expecting, a charge of around £30.  I've no outstanding orders or indeed anything that would make it look like my contract was extending for some reason.  I'll try and call later to try and understand where £180 comes from as this just seems like a random number that's been plucked out the air.
